wouet（ウート）ギニア　コノ族　ヴィンテージ　鳥型　マスク

ギニア南部に暮らすコノ族が制作した、鳥をモチーフとした希少なヴィンテージの木彫マスクです。
丸みを帯びた頭部から長く伸びる嘴の造形が特徴で、素朴で力強い造形美をもつ一点もの。
手彫りによる木肌の質感と、長い年月を経た自然な風化が唯一無二の存在感を生み出しています。

素材は現地で古くから使われてきた軽量の木材を使用された可能性が高く、
風雨や湿度の変化を繰り返し受けたことで、表面には柔らかな酸化層が生まれております。

口ばし部分には全体が丸く風化しており、自然な割れや摩耗が見られます。
これは、おそらく観賞品として後年つくられたレプリカの加工精度とは異なり、実際に地域で使われた古い民具・仮面の可能性を示します。
断言はできませんが、20世紀初頭〜中頃（おそらく70〜120年前）に制作された可能性があります。

鳥はコノ族の造形文化において象徴的な存在で、恵みや循環、地域社会の調和を示すモチーフとして親しまれてきました。
マスク本体の丸い目孔や、木目に沿って彫り込まれたラインは、文化的な象徴性と造形的美しさの両方を際立たせています。

乾いた柔らかい布で軽く埃を払う程度で十分です。
