This stone portrait sculpture was hand-carved one by one in a small village at the edge of the Sahara Desert, in southern Morocco.

Crafted from locally sourced dolomite stone, the piece has a solid, grounding presence. Its gently polished surface preserves the natural texture of the stone, evoking a sense of age and quiet dignity.

A carefully carved beard graces the face, and a movable earring gently swings from the ear—together creating the expression of a calm gaze that seems to reflect on the past.
